A psychiatric institution with three locations wanted to digitialize on a large scale and needed a concrete strategy to do so.
The challenges were considerable: three clinics with different processes, strict regulatory requirements for software in the medical environment, and an existing clinic information system into which any new solution would have to fit.
The institution created a digital board consisting of people responsible for psychology, structure, and medicine. What was missing was someone who understood the technical side and could communicate with the board on an equal footing. I took on this role.
Specifically, this means that I helped decide which projects were a priority and technically feasible, acted as a link between the digital board and the IT department, and designed solutions that were compliant with regulations. The results include an emergency chat service as an alternative to the emergency hotline for children and young people, an app for digitally collecting and improving sleep data, the connection of various systems to the hospital information system, and a solution for automated billing of assessments to health insurance companies.
