Ordering using tablets in restaurants

As co-founder of YourWaiter, I developed a complete solution that allows restaurant guests to order directly from their table using tablets—including cash register system integration, automatic kitchen transmission, and remote maintenance as a rental model.

Paper menus have a few obvious problems: they are expensive to print, quickly become outdated, and cause delays because staff have to be called over in the first place. The idea behind YourWaiter was simple: tablets replace the menu, guests order directly, the order is automatically sent to the kitchen, and payment is also made via the tablet.

As co-founder and CEO, I built this start-up from an idea to a marketable product. That meant developing a business model, choosing the right technology, designing and developing the software, and above all, solving the problem of connecting to existing POS systems from different manufacturers, because no restaurant is going to buy a new POS system just because it is introducing tablets.

The result was an all-inclusive rental model: restaurants simply enter their menus into the existing POS system. The tablets automatically retrieve the data, are secured against theft by geo-fencing, and are fully remotely maintained. Updates, configuration, support—everything is included, without the restaurant operator having to worry about the technology.
